Our Client has an exciting and rare opening for a CNC/Setter/Operator - after training on days the role will work rotating shifts.

 

 

Salary:             Competitive with discretionary annual bonus

Benefits:          25 days leave + BH, rising to 27 days after 5 years

                        Free parking

                        OT when available

                        Monthly pay, pension etc

Location:         Hoo, Rochester, Kent – having your own transport is essential

Hours:             Whilst training working days

                        7.30am to 4.15, Monday to Thursday, 12.30 finish Friday

                        After training

                        Rotating shifts 6am to 2pm / 2pm to 10pm

 

The role of CNC/Setter/Operator is responsible for setting and operating CNC machines, programming experience is NOT essential.

 

 

CNC/Setter/Operator duties:

 

  • Working within the machining department ensuring the efficient running of CNC machines.

 

  • Supervision of the machine shop area and operators in the absence of the machine shop Supervisor.

 

  • Minimise machine set-up time.
  • Reporting any malfunctions of equipment and minimising machine down-time.

 

  • Responsible for maintaining the condition and stock levels of tooling.
  • Maximise material utilisation.

 

  • Work with stock control to maintain accurate stock levels of materials and manufactured components.

 

  • Generate reports detailing actual outputs verses targets.
  • Train others to use the machines as and when required.

 

 

Qualifications/ Experience:

 

  • Good level of education e.g. GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths.
  • Relevant apprenticeship and or 3 years’ experience of CNC operating/ setting

 

  • Experience of 5S in the workplace.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills
  • Previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment.

 

  • Read and understand manufacturing drawings.
  • Good communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Ability to work autonomously, using own initiative, managing oneself and workload

 

  • An organiser with the ability to prioritise and delegate.
  • Systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Ability to work autonomously.

 

  • A flexible approach to working hours.
  • Relevant CNC programming qualification. (Desirable NOT essential)

 

  • Experience on Fanuc and Mitsubishi systems and Moriseiki and Tornado machines. (Desirable NOT essential)

 

  • Working knowledge of Moriseiki and Tornado machines. (Desirable NOT essential)
